Our Story
Weldspec was established in October 1983, evolving over the years to become a Major Player in the NDT Industry both in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Weldspec began by being the incumbent NDT company for UIE Scotland Ltd, Clydebank Glasgow for 18 years and now presently the incumbent NDT company for Bos-Shelf LLC Baku Azerbaijan since 2001, arguably the largest and most modern Oil Related yard in the world.
The company continues to be a family run business that offers the personal hands on approach which stands in good stead both with clients and personnel.
The company has experience working with all the Major Oil Companies, BP, Total, Amoco, Shell, Esso and Texaco to name a few, fabricating the largest of projects, typically 18,000 ton jackets and 10,000 ton topsides.
We presently have over 100 personnel engaged on various projects throughout the area providing Non Destructive Testing and Heat Treatment Services. Personnel are highly qualified, trained in the United Kingdom and abroad at TWI approved training facilities attaining national and Internationally recognised certification level III & level II in their specific fields, motivated with a wealth of experience on all types of Structural and Piping Projects both onshore and offshore.
Weldspec continue to tender for Major Contracts for the supply of personnel, equipment and professional services in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
The range of inspection services provided by Weldspec includes Visual Weld Inspection, Ultrasonic inspection (conventional and Phased Array), Radiography (Both X-Ray and Gamma), Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Inspection.
Weldspec continue to invest in the most up to date equipment, Olympus for Phased Array, GE Technologies for Ultrasonic’s, Yxlon Comet and SafeRad for Radiography, Magnaflux and Johnson & Allen for MT & DP and Stork Technical Services for Heat Treatment.
